Wedding - Claire & Michael
Another winter wedding with amazing weather! Lucky doesn't begin to cover it. Horrible all week and then just about perfect all day 'on the day'. Doesn't stop me when it's bad but it does give me a few more options when the sky is blue. Winter light is just gorgeous, the only trouble is it doesn't last very long! So, the objective for this wedding was to shoot fast and keep 'em moving. Although I'd photographed a ceremony at this couple's church before I was really looking forward to the reception venue - Wallington Hall. A really magnificent Northumbrian stately home that I was last at around 13 years ago for an open-air classical concert (would you believe with with my girlfriend who I married some 7 years after). I'd no idea that it was available for a wedding (in this case a stunning marquee) before meeting Claire and Michael but it turned out to be every bit as wonderful as I was hoping - apart from not having enough hours in the day! I could have shot for two days in that evening light, there was that much scope. Fantastic. A great couple and a great wedding. I can only hope that all the midgey bites I suffered that evening to get these shots are appreciated - just kidding, all part of the service. Enjoy. Henry
